I keep starting posts but then feel like they are a little boring so I keep waiting for something exciting to share. But I promise, exciting or not (and finished or not) I will post this one!
Yesterday, we (Cory, Nate, Jaecie, Elizabeth & I) spent the day at Waterworld. It was a surprisingly fun day and I am not even crispy!!! Jae brought some amazing sunblock so other than my scalp (which hurts fairly bad) I still have my healthy skin :o) We rode as much as we possiby could but we are trying to find a time to maybe go during the week so the lines might be shorter. I was a chicken on the first ride but after that I went on everything (except the toilet bowl one- but someone needed to stay with Elizabeth, right?). I only panicked on a few or maybe that was I only panicked for a few moments at the beginning of each ride. For those of you that don't know, I have a serious problem with my head being underwater. At the end of the day I did make it down 2 slides by myself on a tube of course. Maybe next time I will be brave enough to try a body slide.
When we got home, we finally agreed on dinner and decided to order Chinese food. We got the order ready (for those of you who do know, you know how challenging it can be for me to make up my mind) I called our favorite place & even though the menu says they are open 4-9, at 7:30 they did not answer. We ended up having to order from another place and the food was ok but not the same.
Kind of funny to follow my whining about greasy Chinese food with this but.... I started working out and have managed to get up at 5am or shortly thereafter to accomplish this. Today, I chose to take Emma on our 2 mile walk to get the day started. She doesn't always like getting up in the mornings but today she was waiting by the door when I finally got dressed. We did our normal walk and on the way home from the park, 2 deer walked right in front of us. I am not going to try to estimate the distance because I really stink at that kind of stuff but if I hadn't just peed before I left the house, I probably would have peed my pants. Emma felt a little different about it. Her breed was/is used for hunting moose. They are trained to track the moose, corner them & make noise until the hunters can come and do their part (stupid hunters!) I am used to Emma pulling to try to catch bunnies and chipmunks (and she has even caught a few things) but holy smokies!!! She saw the deer as soon as we came around the corner and she was off. I learned on some previous walks that if Emma is "playing" with the wildlife and I am having a hard time holding on to the leash or she catches me just right & I am running behind her (similar to what I imagine parasailing would feel like)I can wrap the leash around my waist and then I always win. So, leash wrapped around my waster, me being ever so thankful for the gentle lead, Emma fluffed up & ready to play with her new friends, we stood on the sidewalk and watched the deer, antlers and all, walking down the street. Pretty cool! And I saw a fox hanging out on my way home from work. I think the fox might have been waiting for the prairie dog to pop out of the hole his was sitting near but I like to think he was just watching the cars go by.
My job has been crazy busy lately. We upgraded our systems and people really want to give us money so it has been nuts! It reminds me of what it was like when I first started & never really saw the sun. The checks will be nice but the biggest downfall is that Emma really isn't to excited about me staying late since I am the first one home to let her out. Today, there was poop. Up early to exercise, long day at work (I don't think I can type enough to sum up the past few days at work), not home early enough to do laundry or grocery shopping, and there was poop. A lot of poop. And walks with more poop. And now Emma is yelling at me to go out again. :o(
To end on a good note, Cory took a few days off from work and treated himself to an amazing day of golf at his favorite course with his buddies, spend some quality time bonding with his 360 and made me an amazing dinner! We had Friday off together for a spectacular date day which lead to (sorry, dog had to go out again, lost my train of thought- can you give a dog pepto???). We had a great weekend, had some amazing food (Johnny's Diner- first time before Waterworld- yummy!!!) and got to be bums! I could definitely get used to not working :o)
