New Addition!!!

We have a new niece!!! Cory's brother Nate and his girlfriend, Jaecie, had a baby girl on Saturday. Cadence was about 4 weeks early but she weighed in at 6lbs 9oz and was 19" long. She is soooo cute and we are very excited to have another niece.

I made it!

I made it through my appointment today! Even with my giant fear of needles and the wonderful flips my stomach does when I see my own blood, I made it through my first donation. I was supposed to go in to donate platelets but it turns out my veins are not up to that challenge. I stayed and donated whole blood- without throwing up. Apparently since I cried in the interview/pre-screening thing, they brought the head lady in to stick me. Yep, I was the "special one" of the day. I made it through with only crying one more time but that was after the needle was already in- kind of like the small melt down once my belly button was pierced, okay during the process but not so okay after. The lady was great and stayed with me the whole time I was in the chair. She answered all of my questions about the tubes, bags, strange beeping on the machine, and anything else I could ask to not think about the enormous needle sucking my blood from my vein. She told me they brought her in to make sure I had a good first experience so I would be willing to come back. She did her job well and I am hoping to return for future visits, maybe even join the multi-gallon club!

Random Thoughts

I feel bad that I haven't really added anything for a little bit but everytime I log on, my head is so full of randomness that I cannot come up with a blog that will make sense to anyone outside of my head. So here is what is going in my head today-

I have to give platelets at the end of this week. Where are they going to put the needle? How bad is it going to hurt because my doctor has already told me the needles are bigger than the ones they use at her office? If I am hooked up to the machine and need to throw up, where can I go? I am supposed to dress warm since the blood runs through the machine and is likely not heated but what if I get too warm- there are needles in both arms!

Why do dog farts smell so bad and fill up the entire house? We haven't switched her food or anything but, golly Emma is having a smelly day!

Why do people take their dogs to Petsmart and leave them in the car?

I really do not want to go back to work tomorrow.

I did laundry in the middle of last week so although we have some dirty clothes, it is not enough to justify doing laundry since I have learned the value of separating the whites from the colors. But it should likely be done because next weekend will have that awkward third load if I leave the extra clothes.

Why does my apartment complex do nothing about the ice formation (Cory and I have named it Cherrywood Glacier) that runs across the sidewalk to get to my car? Between my foot and Cory using the wonderful orange cone the office has put on the glacier, we broke up a fairly large part. Wounldn't clearing sidewalks fall under the ground keeper's job responsibilities?

Why did I have to ask for Saturn to wash my car after my appointment on Saturday? First when they thought they lost my car, they told me it was in line at the car wash and then when we found it out front (still dirty from the blizzard of 2006- yes, 2006- I hate washing my car) they tried to just give me my keys. Seriously? I think not- please run it through the wash for me.

I really want to go buy some more candles but I can't decide between tealights and votives. The tealight holders fit better around the house but I can't stay away long enough for them to burn all of the way and there is not enough candles for two burning periods. But if I buy votives, then I am stuck with the same smell for at least 2 weeks and I am not sure what smell I want to commit to for that long.

I really want to get the rest of the stuff I need to finish my DC album but I am having a hard time remembering the small details of the trip. So maybe I should just get the stuff for the wedding album but then that leaves 2 unfinished projects laying around. I just don't want to forget the small stuff about the day.

I think that is about all that I should write for now. Most of my other thoughts involve questioning the existence of stupid people and I don't have any nice words. Off to the grocery store, a whole separate post on its own. Happy day to you all!
