Helping momma vacuum

Alexis loves helping me to chores around the house lately and one of her favorites has been helping me vacuum.  I wish I had grabbed my camera earlier since these pictures are a little crazy but I figure even if they don't give you the full picture, they make me smile :)

Yes, the vacuum was on the whole time and she was using the attachment and hose to help me clean the stairs and the hallway.  Her favorite part of vacuuming is the air that blows out of the front.  It is a fun game the entire time we are cleaning.  In this last picture I was trying to catch her again but she stands in front of it with her back to the vacuum and laughs and laughs as the air blows on her.  (Similar to the one above where it is blowing her hair and face).  Love her!!!

Because I finally got the video thing to work :)

Princess Lexi Pictures

"Help me!"  In this case she needed a push (or 100) in the basket through the kitchen.

Is there any other way to draw with markers other than sitting right in the middle of the paper?  And her newest thing is to draw on her finger and then use her finger like a stamp- super fun!

Saying "Cheese!" and showing off her new princess heels :)  She loves to walk around in my heels so I decided to get her some of her own.
Taking a lap around the island in the kitchen.  Not only are the shoes amazingly awesome, they are really loud too!

Mt. Tinkerbell- complete with a slide at the bottom for Alexis and the bunny.

Turns out that Emma liks the Tinkerbell blanket too- and the battle begins...  (The action shot of Alexis is her shaking her head, saying "No Emma! No, No No!" and tryin to move Emma's foot.)

And then it turned into a game (on Alexis' side. only- Emma was not amused)

Lexi's new crayon box.  One of my new projects and the best picture I have gotten so far.  The stickers on the side facing her belly say "Alexis".  I took an empty Crystal Light container, put on stickers and ribbon and then decopauged (just realized I have no clue how to spell that word and I am too tired to go look at the bottle) over it so it is all stuck on.  She loves playing with- there was a lot of pick up and dump out going on tonight.

Night, Night Mickey

Alexis loves to play with my old cradle and Mickey that Grandpa and Grandma Yeomans had made for me when I was little.  Makes me happy I saved things for her :)

My daughter is hilarious!!!

Every time Alexis says something cute or hilarious, I think what a great blog entry that will be.  And then I never make it on the computer.  So here are some of my favorites:

"Whatcha doing?"  Apparently I ask her that a lot and now she comes up to me all the time and says it.

Fake crying.  It may not be the most pleasing sound to hear but it cracks me up!  I just tell her that is silly and not real because she has no tears.  She checks her eyes for tears and then stops :)  Although when she really is crying, she will show me her tears and it breaks my heart a little.

"Thank you!"  I love her manners and I think it is the cutest thing to hear her say "Thank you" when you give her something.

"Help me".  When she gets stuck somewhere, instead of freaking out or crying, she just shouts "Help me!"  She loves to climb on everything and then shouts for help to get down.  I am pretty sure she could get down from all of the places on her own but it is cute that she asks for help.

She is completely obsessed with taking care of things- babies, bunnies, puppies, and her stuffed Mickey.  She loves tucking them in for night-night, feeding them, hugging and kissing them, and playing with them all the time.  Tonight we made Mt. Tinkerbell on the couch so her and the bunny could climb up and then slide down.

"C'mon!"  She started grabbing my hand and pulling me to wherever she thinks I need to be.  "C'mon momma!" :)

I love the logic in her world.  The other day we bonked heads during our dance party.  She said "Owie, owie" and leaned over so I could kiss her boo boo.  And then when I held my head, she came over, moved my hand and kissed my boo boo.

And she has figured out my Nook tablet.  She knows how to get around the main menu and find her apps.  She has been playing apps and listening to books the Nook for a few months but I am surprised that she can get to the main menu and back.  Although I suppose since she figured out how to answer my phone the other night when my mom called, I shouldn't be surprised that she can figure out the Nook.

I have the best daughter ever :)

Feeding the dog

Hopefully 19 months is old enough for kids to start having chores because, in addition to doing laundry, Alexis loves to help feed the dog.  These pictures were probably over the course of 30-45 min.  Lots of work to figure out how to get the cup in the dog food and turned so it will scoop up the food.  And then walking it over to the food dish and hopefully pouring in into the dish were equally challenging.  At least I did think of taking the water dish out of the way in the beginning.  And the fat puppy didn't seem to mind the extra food on the floor (I had to put most of the food in the dish back into the main container when Alexis was done) since she has been on a diet for a couple of months.

A few of my favorites!

While Brenda and family were here for Christmas, we went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for a day.  While everyone else was out doing the body activity, Alexis and I played in the toddler area.  They had a giant display of the pokey thing where the sticks poke out the other side in the shape of what you did on your side.  After a while, Alexis started pushing the pieces through with her belly.  As you can see in the picture, she thought she was hilarious!

Not too sure about sitting with Santa this year.  She like looking at him after we were done though :)
Fishy, fishy, fishy!  She loves to look at the fish in the tank.  Thank goodness because this really is a lot of work!  Yesterday she reminded me to put the safety straps back on the tank after I had taken them off to paint.    Nothing like watching your toddler try to climb up the couch next to the tank saying "Fishy eat" to remind you the tank needs to be secured to the wall again.

Christmas morning.  The kids got into their stocking right away and then while everyone was opening gifts, I noticed Alexis was very quiet.  You can't see it very well but there is chocolate smudged all over her face.  She figured out how to get the top off the M&M candy cane and stared helping herself to breakfast! :)

Our two pictures from New Year's Eve with our party beads!  I opened the bag for Alexis and she immediately put all of them on.  I said those are party beads for the holiday and she started walking around the house saying "Party! Party!"
A few weeks ago, a couple of friends came over and we made fleece blankets for the kids.   Everytime I get Lexi's out, she pretends to be asleep on it.  Super cute! :)
