I love being a mommy!

I am truly amazed at how much I love being a mommy. I love her smiles in the morning when I go to get her up. I love watching her learn something new almost every day. I can't wait to see her when I am away from her and love my extra good snuggle at night when I am putting her to bed. I love talking with her and today she even sang along to the radio with me in the car (it was so cute!!!). I love that she lays on her side, propped up on her elbow because that is how I lay on the floor when I am playing with her. I loved making her a valentine today at work. I love falling asleep staring at the monitor and watching her sleep. I love picking up a tiny little outfit and remembering the last time she was able to fit in something so small. I love thinking about her walking, the crazy conversations I am sure we are going to have when she can talk, braiding her hair and painting her nails. I am even looking forward to taking her shopping and while it freaks the heck out of me, I like to think about her getting ready for prom, graduation, and college. I try to figure out what I am going to say when she gets her first crush, her first date, and her first broken heart. I hope one day she is lucky enough to have a daughter and gets a chance to feel all these things too!
I know I am not a perfect mommy but my daughter is happy and that makes me feel amazing. Her giggles and laughter make my day!!!

Catching up

A couple of weeks ago, our computer died. I have almost come to terms that it really is just dead. Stupid Geek Squad. I am now the proud owner of my own laptop. It is a nice small laptop for important things like Facebook, blogging, and working on Lexi pictures and will also work well for school. For the days when I am working at home, I will be able to hook up the giant monitor that went with our dead computer. For days I want to get really crazy, I can hook it up to the tv in the living room and just use the wireless keyboard and mouse- that will be interesting.
Now that I am back to the computer world, time to catch you up on the exciting world of The Butlers. Work is going great. Although I have a few things that annoy me, I realized that I am very fortunate to have a job that I enjoy doing. I am currently working on a few projects that are slightly overwhelming but lots of fun to make my brain crazy. School is still going, 3.3 classes until I will finally have my Master's degree. Then the journey will begin to figure out what I want to do with it. Cory is still working like crazy with his job. While it stinks we don't see each other a lot, Lexi definitely gets the best end of it. At almost any point of the week, she is either with her mommy or daddy.
Alexis is growing like crazy! I cannot believe she is 8 months old already! She has started saying DaDa in addition to all her other random sounds. She is quite the talker and I love it! She can get almost anywhere she wants to go by rolling and scooting but it looks like she might actually start crawling. She is getting up on her hands and knees a little bit. She still has her spirited personality and does a very good job communicating with us, especially when she is not happy about something. She loves testing her volume :o) Lots of shouting, not unhappy shouting, just lots of talking very loud. And she loves to laugh. I am so looking forward to what the next few months bring. It will be nice when she is able to start eating more regular food. Now when we eat, we have the dog begging, the cat begging, and the baby begging! Good thing for the mesh feeders, she can at least try some stuff. I started giving her some Puffs. She is not too fond of them yet but each time she gets them, she does a little better. Emma is loving them though :)
Now that I have my own computer back, I will be getting my pictures up and start sharing my princess again. Alexis and I took a quick trip to Iowa last week but due to the circumstances of flying out, I completely forgot to pack my camera. Looking forward to seeing the pictures my mom, sister and brother took. It was a great trip!
