Thanks to Alexis, I am getting the most out of this paid holiday. After shouting very loudly this morning, she went back to sleep but since I am normally up pretty early, I was not able to get back to sleep. So at 7:00am, I have already done a couple loads of laundry, put away a lot of laundry, cleaned up the house and uploaded some pictures. Guess I might need to thank her :0)
Work and school are going great for me. We implemented a new quality program at work so my team's responsibilities have changed a lot. It has been nice enjoying going to work! I am halfway through another class (I should be doing my homework right now as usual) and will have a two week break at the end of this class which I am really looking forward to. Only 4 more classes to go!!!
Alexis is changing so much- she is rolling over like crazy now and recently started rolling to follow the dog. Emma is not so sure about this baby-moving thing now. She is sitting up although she hasn't quite mastered the backwards balance so as soon as she smiles (which is a whole body thing for her) she tips over. She loves standing and has a great time in her exersaucer and jumper. Emma has figured out how close she can get to the exersaucer without getting letting Alexis touch her now that Alexis has her "grab-and-pull" skill down quite well. The only time Emma will brave getting really close to Alexis is when she is eating baby food. Then Emma is more than willing to lose a little hair.
Alexis still loves chatting and laughs all the time. I love finding new games to play with her to see what makes her giggle. She is all about chewing on things now and I am amazed at how fast she can get things to her mouth. She is not big on napping every day but she sleeps great at night so I am okay with that. She usually gets about 12-13 hours of sleep at night so I have started trying to get to bed a lot earlier after I put her down which has made 4am a lot nicer.
While she has always been a great eater, recently she has started getting whiny when we are eating and not sharing with her :o) She will stare just as cute as the dog and move her mouth like she is chewing while we are eating. I have tried to feed her baby food a few times while we are eating but she gets crabby like I am trying to trick her. I cannot wait until she is just eating what we are eating. I love watching her grow and learn new things but sometimes I miss the baby stuff.
It sounds like I am being requested upstairs for a breakfast date with my Princess. Hope you all have a good Turkey Day! I've got Grandma's raspberry salad in the fridge so I am ready for the day :o) Wish I was eating it in Iowa with my family but at least we will have a good day with our family here!
